İGA is an abbreviation for Istanbul Grand Airport.
Who founded İGA?
İGA's journey started on May 3, 2013, when the General Directorate of State Airports Authority of Turkey (DHMI) awarded the tender for construction and operation of the Istanbul New Airport to the Cengiz-MAPA-Limak-Kolin-Kalyon consortium. The consortium then formed İGA on October 7, 2013 to construct the Istanbul New Airport and assume its operations for a period of 25 years.

Can I reach İGA by public transportation?
Currently, public transportation options to İGA are limited to Eyüp Göktürk Merkez District. When completed, the airport will be connected to the city via the Third Bridge and its extension, the Northern Marmara Motorway. In addition, İGA will be integrated with Istanbul’s public transportation system via links to the subway and high-speed rail line.
What will the Istanbul New Airport look like when completed?
We are working on a terminal design that draws its inspiration from the Istanbul’s unique cultural and architectural heritage, incorporating state-of-the-art technologies to ensure passenger comfort. Designed by the most experienced national and international architecture firms, the project places full emphasis on the passenger. The terminal design will feature motifs from Turkish-Islamic art and architecture. The Istanbul New Airport's aesthetic qualities will be complemented by a plain and practical system. A flexible, spacious design places the airport among the leading examples of architectural design in the world.

tract of land on the European Side of Istanbul, between Tayakadın and Akpınar villages near the Black Sea coast.
